Oak Brook carefully selects staff from many applicants by using a two step interview process. References, FBI background checks, and fingerprinting are done prior to hiring. All teachers are required to have current CPR and First Aid certification. Teachers with less than 2 years of previous experience must complete a 24 hour pre-service training. All teachers are required to attend a minimum of 24 hours of additional training each year that is relevant to the age group they teach.
Monica Ivener - Director
Monica has her Texas State Director’s License and is married with two children. She has been working with children for over 20 years. She has worked in as a supervisor in a behavioral program for children with autism for many years. From there she taught preschool and Pre-K classes both in California and Texas, as well as ran her own licensed in-home child care for 3.5 years. Prior to becoming the Director in 2014 she was the Assistant Director at Oak Brook School for 5 years.
Tracie Riebschlager - Assistant Director
Tracie is married with 2 children. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in communication. She has been working in childcare since 2007 and has been at Oak Brook since 2010 in both our 3 and 4 year old programs. She joined our management team as the Office Administrator but is the Assistant Director since Dec 2015. She enjoys the best of both worlds in working in the office and getting to spend time in various classrooms every day.
Ms. Corinna - Early Learners 1
Ms. Corinna has been in the childcare business for over 3 years. She loves teaching the toddlers. “They are in the most fun and exciting years of their lives. They are turning into their own little person and it amazes me how much they learn and pick up on.” She has been with Oak Brook since 2013.
Ms. Melony - Early Learners 2
Ms. Melony has been working with children for over 20 years. She began her career in child care as a Child Care Director in 1991. After a year and a half as director she found her true passion as a two year old teacher. For over 20 years she has been teaching Early Learners. She has been loving and nurturing our youngest children at Oak Brook School since 2002.
Ms. Angela - Preschool 1
Ms. Angela attended Angelina Community College from 2006-2009, where she obtained an Associates of Applied Science in General Curriculum. She then attended Stephen F Austin State University from 2010-2013. In May 2013 she graduated with a dual Bachelor’s of Science degree in Child Development and Psychology. She has over 5 years of experience working hands on in a classroom setting. Educating the young is her passion.
Ms. Anna - Preschool 2
Ms. Anna has had the privilege of working in child care for over 6 years and has been here at Oak Brook since April 2014. She loves working with the three year olds and getting them ready to move to the pre-k classes. It is truly a blessing to spend my days helping children to learn and grow.
Ms. Candice - Pre-K 1
Ms. Candice attended Alcorn State University and has her Bachelor of Science in Child Development. She has been working to educate and nurture children since 2009!
Ms. Vera - Pre-K 1
While attending The University of the Pacific as a business major Ms. Vera found her true calling working with children. She has been teaching ever since! Ms. Vera has spent the last 25 years preparing kids for Kindergarten. She has been with us at Oak Brook since 2004.
Ms. Keshia - Pre-K 2
Ms. Keshia is currently a junior working towards her Psychology Degree. She has been teaching in childcare for over 15 years, dedicating her time to preparing 4 year olds for Kindergarten. She has been enthusiastically teaching our Pre-K 2 class at Oak Brook since 2005.
Ms. Desha - Pre-K 2
Ms. Desha has been a preschool teacher for more than 10 years. She loves working with children and is working hard to get our 4 year olds ready to go to Kindergarten. We have been lucky enough to have Ms. Desha with us since 2006.

Nathan Gee - After School Coordinator
Mr. Nathan has had the privilege of working with children for 22 years. He has held positions as a kindergarten assistant, preschool teacher, after school teacher, summer coordinator, and an office assistant at his previous child care facility. Watching students learn new skills, ideas, and being able to be a part of their schooling is a passion of his. Although he doesn’t yet have children of his own, Mr. Nathan refers to the children he works with as “his kids”.
